Why You Should Join the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Imagine losing a loved one to cancer. So many of us are affected by breast cancer. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an estimated 42,170 women in the U.S. will die from breast cancer in 2020. It is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives each year. Although rare, this disease also affects men. By supporting the cause to end this health crisis, you can help prevent many more from suffering.

Together, we can make an impact.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Early detection can save lives. Sadly, some women do not have access to financial and educational resources, adequate healthcare, and mental or emotional support. No one should ever have to go through this ordeal alone. By taking action and joining the cause, you can make an impact. October is the perfect time to pitch in!

Help Support a Woman in Need

There are many ways to help. You can donate money to non-profit organizations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Your money will go towards providing screening, education, and support for women in need. Other ways you can help include volunteering for events, sharing your story if you’ve been impacted or offering support to those in need.

Start or Join a Fundraiser

Support and join community events in your local area like fun runs, bake sale or any other breast cancer events. No local happenings? Why not start your own campaign? Events can be small and as simple as a sign-up sheet, an email thread or social media post with a link to a fundraising page. Ask your employer to match donations to double your contributions!

Spread breast cancer awareness

Are you on Instagram? Join us at #yogiswithopenhearts! This is a fundraiser hosted by 10 yogis to engage the IG community into joining the fight against breast cancer. Participants can also take part in a yoga challenge and support one another by posting a heart opener pose for each week in October.
